RIE® Parent-Infant Guidance™ Classes:

Baby on their belly reaching for a toy on the floor

Classes are organized by stage of development – back infants, locomoting babies and toddlers. Classes are on-going. Families are welcome to join anytime there is space available. Limiting each class to 8 children creates a peaceful, relaxing venue to ask and answer questions. Each class includes sensitive observation of babies, uninterrupted play time then questions and discussion.

RIE encourages basic trust in the child to be an initiator, an explorer and a self-learner. RIE provides an environment for the child that is physically safe, cognitively challenging and emotionally nurturing. Your child will have time for uninterrupted play and you, as the adult, will develop the art of sensitive observation in order to understand his or her needs better. You will read babies cues, learn when to intervene and, most importantly, when not to.

Becoming a RIE parent has had a profound impact on our lives due to the philosophy and approach toward infants and children, as well as the generous and invaluable guidance of Lisa Chariff Better.” –Read more parent testimonials here.
